Community Safety Notice 1/14/25

Dear CCSD 46 Community,

I am writing to inform you of an incident within our community. On Monday, January 13th, an incident occurred at a bus stop involving a student from Avon Center School. Upon exiting the bus, the student was approached by a stranger in a vehicle who asked the student to get in the car. The student informed his father, and we have confirmed that the Round Lake Beach Police were notified of the situation and are continuing to investigate the situation.

We hope that any students walking to and from school or bus stops will do so with friends, siblings, or parents/guardians in order to enhance safety, especially while the suspect has not yet been apprehended.

Estimada Comunidad CCSD 46,

Les escribo para informarles de un incidente dentro de nuestra comunidad. El lunes, 13 de enero, ocurrió un incidente en una parada de autobús que involucró a un estudiante de la escuela Avon Center. Al salir del autobús, el estudiante fue abordado por un extraño en un vehículo que le pidió que subiera al coche. El estudiante informó a su padre, y hemos confirmado que la policía de Round Lake Beach fueron notificados de la situación y continúan investigando la situación.

Esperamos que todos los estudiantes que caminan hacia y desde la escuela o las paradas de autobús lo hagan con amigos, hermanos o padres / tutores con el fin de mejorar la seguridad, especialmente mientras el sospechoso aún no ha sido detenido.
