CCSD 46 Families,
Late last week, CCSD 46 learned of the arrest of a man employed by neighboring school districts as a teacher and athletic coach. The media had initially reported this as a “Grayslake teacher.” While this individual, Todd Fowler, resides in Grayslake, he is not employed by CCSD 46 or any of the District’s schools. Mr. Fowler has been charged with possession and dissemination of child pornography.
We understand that both Woodland District 50 and Grayslake Community High School District 127 did background checks prior to his employment, just as CCSD 46 does with all new staff. Mr. Fowler passed all background checks upon his hiring at both Woodland and Grayslake Central High School. Grayslake District 127 is conducting an internal investigation and checking all district-related communications and electronic platforms Mr. Fowler may have accessed. Woodland District 50 is working closely with law enforcement on this active investigation.
As this individual has ties to the Grayslake community and surrounding areas, we wanted to share this information with our families. The safety of our students and staff is a top priority. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is asking parents to speak with their children to see if they have communicated with Mr. Fowler or believe they may be a victim of Fowler. If so, please contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office detectives at 847-377-4000.

Estimadas familias del CCSD 46:
A finales de la semana pasada, el CCSD 46 se enteró del arresto de un hombre empleado por distritos escolares vecinos como maestro y entrenador deportivo. Si bien este individuo, Todd Fowler, reside en Grayslake, no es empleado del CCSD 46 ni de ninguna de las escuelas del Distrito. Entendemos que tanto el Distrito 50 de Woodland como el Distrito Escolar Comunitario 127 de Grayslake realizaron verificaciones de antecedentes antes de su contratación, al igual que el CCSD 46 con todo el personal nuevo. El Sr. Fowler superó todas las verificaciones de antecedentes al ser contratado tanto en Woodland como en la Escuela Secundaria Central de Grayslake.
