Dear CCSD 46 Community,
We are very glad to share that we will be bringing students back onsite at Avon, Meadowview, Woodview, Prairieview (including the Early Childhood Center), and Park Campus on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Frederick School and Grayslake Middle School will have E-Learning.
We have significant concerns with boilers, unit ventilators, and sprinkler heads at GMS. We know with certainty that GMS cannot open for students this week, and therefore GMS students will have an enhanced E-Learning schedule on Thursday and Friday of this week. Students will spend half of their time with teachers in an online learning environment and half of their time in asynchronous learning.
We also have concerns with boilers and sprinkler heads at Frederick, although less so than at GMS. Frederick School students will have an enhanced E-Learning schedule for at least Thursday and possibly Friday of this week. Students will spend half of their time with teachers in an online learning environment and half of their time in asynchronous learning. Of course, we hope to bring our Frederick students back onsite on Friday. We will let Frederick families know as soon as possible whether school will be online or onsite on Friday.
Temperatures at our other schools, Avon, Meadowview, Prairieview, Woodview, Park Campus, and the Early Childhood Center are returning to normal ranges, but please dress your children in layers as some areas may be cooler than others.
We will continue to keep our Frederick School and Grayslake Middle School families apprised of any changes. If there are any changes for the schools that will be onsite tomorrow, we will notify those families directly in the morning.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are doing all that we can to bring our students onsite for learning. We are very grateful to our Operations Staff and Administrators for all of their efforts that have led to the re-opening of five of our schools, to our entire staff for supporting their students during this challenging time, and to our families for managing E-Learning again.

Estamos muy contentos de compartir que vamos a tener estudiantes de vuelta en Avon, Meadowview, Woodview, Prairieview (incluyendo el Centro de la Primera Infancia), y Park Campus el Jueves, 18 de Enero de 2024. Frederick School y Grayslake Middle School tendrán E-Learning.
Tenemos preocupaciones significativas con los calentadores, ventiladores de unidad, y rociadores de agua en GMS.
