With so much changing in elementary education curriculum, CCSD 46 finds that it is very important to find additional time for the professional development of our teaching staff. Many surrounding districts have implemented either an early release, or late start schedule to replace half-days. We would like your feedback on this issue.
Would you be willing to support either an early release or a late start instead of half-day releases?

Kindergarten Meet & Greet
It's kindergarten registration time for children who will be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2016!
Parents of children who will be entering kindergarten at Community Consolidated School District 46 next year, as well as the incoming kindergartener, are invited to Kindergarten Meet and Greet, Tuesday, February 23, from 6:30 until 7:30 PM for Avon, Meadowview, Park Campus, Prairieview, and Woodview Schools.
D46 is hosting an interactive Family Forum on February 3rd from 5:30-6:30PM at Grayslake Middle School, 440 N. Barron Blvd., Grayslake, IL.
We would like to engage with parents/guardians to address concerns and determine what your would like to see the district provide for your child's education. The Superintendent, staff members, and administrators will be available to discuss what parent/guardians see as important in their child's education.
Superintendents across the state woke up to do their first email check of the day and were greeted by a message sent late last night from State Superintendent Tony Smith explaining why data from the PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Career) assessment was released prematurely, days before districts were told they were allowed to discuss the information publicly.
